If you need 3Commas' broader ecosystem or futures workflows, staying with 3Commas may make sense. If your real workflow is Spot DCA or TradingView automation and your main objection is paying a recurring software subscription before the automation has made money, LabNarrative is built around a different model: start in Paper, then choose a fixed plan or Pro/Max Pay when you profit.

When 3Commas may be the better fit
3Commas is the more natural choice if you depend on functionality outside LabNarrative's current Spot-focused scope, especially futures workflows or a broader mature automation ecosystem. A migration is not valuable just because another product is cheaper.
If your current 3Commas setup uses features that LabNarrative does not support, keep the tool that fits the workflow.
When LabNarrative may fit better
LabNarrative is most relevant when you want to:
- build and inspect supported crypto Spot DCA automation;
- route supported TradingView strategy signals into Spot execution;
- test the workflow with Paper capital before connecting real funds;
- see positions, signals, trade history and analytics in one focused workspace;
- avoid paying an upfront Pro or Max subscription fee when choosing Pay when you profit;
- and get direct migration help instead of rebuilding the first setup alone.
The pricing difference
The important distinction is not simply “cheaper subscription.” LabNarrative lets Pro and Max users choose a different economic model. With Pay when you profit, there is no upfront subscription fee. If the billing period has no positive net realized PnL, the LabNarrative performance fee is $0. When positive net realized PnL exists, the amount owed follows it up to the plan cap: $39 for Pro or $69 for Max.
That is the idea behind Make profit first. Pay us second. Fixed monthly and annual plans remain available for traders who prefer predictable software pricing.
Free Paper-first migration help
Switching automation software is mostly a translation problem. Send the settings or screenshots for one Spot DCA or TradingView workflow you actually use. We will help identify what maps to LabNarrative, recreate the supported part with you, and put it into Paper first.
- keep the existing 3Commas workflow untouched;
- send the relevant bot settings, screenshots or TradingView rules;
- recreate the supported logic in LabNarrative Paper;
- compare new entries, DCA progression, exits and capital use;
- move Live only if the recreated behavior fits what you need.
Email your first setup to hello@labnarrative.com. We will help recreate the supported workflow in Paper with you.
What does not map one-to-one
LabNarrative is not presented as a clone of 3Commas. Unsupported futures, leverage or other platform-specific behavior should be treated as a migration boundary. The safe comparison is the exact workflow you use, not whether two marketing pages have equally long feature lists.
